On November 28, a meeting with a delegation from the province of Isfahan (Islamic Republic of Iran) was held at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Platonov noted in his welcoming speech that for him personally, relations with Iran represent a long and good history, specifying that there were many students from Iran at the Moscow University of Peoples' Friendship (RUDN), where he studied.

“And today I teach at RUDN, where more than 200 students from Iran study. I worked for a quarter of a century in the Moscow parliament. At the beginning of the 2000s, we repeatedly hosted colleagues from Iran, even Mr. Ahmadinejad came back when he was mayor of Tehran. So our relations continued despite the sanctions regimes,” said the head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to Vladimir Platonov, Moscow, which is today the largest sales market in the Russian Federation and at the same time the largest distribution center, is certainly interested in products that are produced in abundance in the province of Isfahan - food, steel and steel products, carpets, fabrics and clothing, petrochemical products , cement, stone and brick, tiles and ceramics, auto parts, furniture, etc.

“We also look forward to the development of tourism exchange between our countries and regions,” said the head of the Moscow Chamber. “I am sure that the Iranian colleagues will, in turn, be interested in Moscow’s production capabilities in the field of innovative technologies, which are now actively developing in more than 40 Moscow industrial parks and technopolises.”

Governor-General of Isfahan Province Reza Mortazavi presented the economic and geographical position of the region. He said that Isfahan is one of the main provinces of Iran.

“The business mission that is present here has united the best, largest companies in our region,” said Masoud Golsherazi, President of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. - Given that Russia and Iran are establishing long-term contacts, we are confident that the signing of the Agreement between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and the Isfahan Chamber will mark the beginning of a new stage of interaction. The gateway for the development of trade with Iran passes through Isfahan.”

Nikolai Mashkov, Chairman of the MCCI Commission for Cooperation with Partners in the Islamic Republic of Iran, noted that the main task of the Chamber's public structure headed by him is to assist in the search for business contacts between entrepreneurs from Moscow and Iran. He said that "in the near future, a business mission of Moscow IT companies to Iran is planned, during which it is supposed to discuss joint projects that we can implement together."

As a result, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of Isfahan took place.

At the end of the official part, B2B negotiations were held between the entrepreneurs of Iran and Moscow. The parties exchanged contacts, spoke about their enterprises and outlined ways of cooperation.
