A Meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Business Council Held at the Chamber

Opening the meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Business Council, which took place on March 23 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kopkov, Director of the Chamber's Foreign Relations Department, noted the new important tasks facing the Councils. Businessmen expect concrete practical assistance from us: in finding alternative suppliers of products, entering new sales markets, in solving problems in mutual settlements, he noted.

 

According to Alexander Kopkov, another important task of business councils is to identify systemic problems and additional reserves in trade and economic relations with a partner country, promptly bring information about urgent business needs to the relevant government agencies. The success of solving these problems largely depends on these actions.

 

Among the promising areas of business cooperation between the two countries, the head of the Department named the textile industry, agriculture, agro-industrial complex, information technology, radio electronics and tourism. In recent years, the interest of Russian entrepreneurs, especially at the regional level, in doing business with Kyrgyz partners has been steadily growing, and the delegation exchange has become more active. In 2021-2022, dozens of business events were held through the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Regional Chambers, despite pandemic restrictions, including mutual visits and business missions.

 

In February, a planned rotation took place in the leadership of the Business Council. In this regard, Alexander Kopkov introduced the newly elected Chairman of the Russian-Kyrgyz Business Council - General Director of Popov Radio Corporation JSC Vladimir Kompaneyshchikov, who has experience both in government departments and in the field of business.

 

On behalf of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Yulia Nesterchuk, Director of the Department for Economic Cooperation with the CIS Countries, addressed the participants of the meeting via videoconference.

 

Further, the Chairman of the Russian-Kyrgyz Business Council Vladimir Kompaneyshchikov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation Ermek Omuraliev, representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Mikhail Tumasov spoke.

Representatives of the business community also took part in the discussion: Andrey Dmitriev, Deputy Commercial Director of Tula Cartridge Plant JSC, Dmitry Ivanov, VTB Bank External Relations Department expert, Olga Tarasova, Director of the Center for the Development of Scientific and Educational Initiatives, Anastasia Negulyaeva, Senior Consultant of B1 Group of Companies.

 

The meeting participants agreed that the Business Council should become one of the main platforms for the development of economic cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
