Acting President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maxim Fateev met on August 28 with Suresh Prabhu, Chairman of the International Cooperation Policy Development Committee under the Ministry of Cooperation of the Government of India.

Suresh Prabhu is the Ambassador-Patron of the ChemTECH World Expo and former Minister of Trade and Industry of India.

The Indian guest spoke about the great potential of cooperation between India and Russia and stressed that the chemical industry occupies a significant place in this area. According to him, the international exhibition ChemTECH World Expo, organized by the Chemtech Foundation, India's leading industry association, is a practical mechanism for developing cooperation between Russia and India and creates rich opportunities for representatives of the chemical industry. The exhibition will celebrate its 50th anniversary. It has been held since 1974 and is the second largest international exposition for the chemical industry. ChemTECH World Expo 2024 is scheduled for March 4-7, 2024 in Mumbai (India).

In his welcoming remarks, Maxim Fateev recalled the business mission to New Delhi under the patronage of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, which took place from April 3 to April 7, 2023. The Vice-President of the Chamber highly appreciated the results of the visit: "The business mission served as a powerful impetus for the development of further contacts and connections, both at the regional level and between industry organizations of our countries."

Great interest from the business community of Russia and the membership base of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (about 53 thousand firms and companies) prompted the Chamber to reformat its work in the Indian direction and launch our representative office in New Delhi. In this regard, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation asked the Chemtech Foundation to establish contact with the representative office and involve it in work on joint projects. For our part, we will give the necessary recommendations to our honorary representative in India, Igor Pyasetsky, said M. Fateev

He also drew attention to the fact that during the visit of the Indian delegation, a meeting with a member organization of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation - the Russian Union of Chemists is planned. “We recommend actively developing relations with this structure, since it is it that largely forms the “rules of the game” followed by Russian entrepreneurs in this sectoral market,” the Vice President of the Chamber noted.

In its daily activities, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia is actively working to increase the scale of international cooperation in the industrial sector. We are ready to provide our information resources so that our business community can learn more about the projects and proposals that the Indian side has, he stressed.

Mr.Fateev thanked for the invitation to take part in ChemTECH World Expo. We will definitely provide information assistance and disseminate information to the business audience of the Russian Federation, he said. The Vice President of the Chamber informed the Indian delegation that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is the founder of one of the leading exhibition and fair companies, Expocentre JSC.

“This company holds more than 100 exhibitions a year, which are 90% international. We invite Indian colleagues to use our opportunities and take part in exhibition events in Moscow,” said Vice President of the Chamber.

The meeting was also attended by ChemTECH World Expo Director Hemant Shetty, who spoke about the opportunities and features of the Indian exposition. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Department of External Relations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Alexander Kopkov.
