In the Chamber Discussed the Future of Cooperation With the Sakarya Region (Türkiye)

On October 17, a meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with representatives of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of the Turkish Sakarya region. To discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, the Turkish delegation was received by Vice-President Vladimir Padalko, who introduced the guests to the history, structure and capabilities of the Russian Chamber.


The delegation, headed by the Chairman of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Akgün Altug, is in Russia on a return visit after representatives of the Lipetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry traveled to Turkey in August. According to the head of the Turkish Regional Chamber, the Sakarya region is located near Istanbul and closes, as he put it, the “golden triangle” in Turkey’s agro-industrial sector. In the region there are enterprises for the production of automation, mechanical engineering, and metal processing. He also noted the great role of the regional port of Karasu in the development of logistics chains between Russia and Turkey. Turkish businessmen who spoke emphasized the high potential for developing cooperation between the two countries.


The meeting was attended by the General Director of the Russian-Turkish Business Council, Alexey Yegarmin, who emphasized the significant increase in cooperation between entrepreneurs. According to him, there has been a threefold increase in trade between Russia and Turkey.
The meeting was attended by the director of the department for work with associations of entrepreneurs of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Alexander Volchenko, deputy general director of the non-profit organization Soyuzexpertiza Alexey Zavadsky and representatives of the chamber's member organizations.
