President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin visited the stands of the 23rd international exhibition of equipment and technologies for the oil and gas complex “Neftegaz-2024” and took part in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition under the patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is held at Expocentre with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The exhibition, the total area of which in 2024 expanded to 70 thousand square meters. meters, provides an opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers from different countries to demonstrate to specialists their latest oil and gas and oil refining equipment and technologies, establish and expand business contacts, and discuss a wide range of issues facing the industry. The exhibition is held annually together with the National Oil and Gas Forum.
President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin noted that the industry is the backbone of the Russian economy.
“That is why today there is such interest in the specialized exhibition both within the country - here there are representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, scientists, financiers - and from external partners. Unfriendly jurisdictions are also paying increased attention. They are interested in how the sectoral sanctions they introduced affected them,” he noted.
Despite the desire of “enemies” to hit the oil and gas industry harder, everyone who works in it and who produces for it is coping with these challenges, emphasized Sergei Katyrin.
As the head of Expocentre JSC, Chairman of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities Maxim Fateev said, representatives from 12 countries and more than 50 regions of the Russian Federation are taking part in the exhibition this year. In total, over 1000 enterprises present their products and technologies here.
“Ten regions of the Russian Federation are presenting their collective stands, and the PRC is presenting a national stand,” he added, wishing the participants successful and comfortable work on the territory of the Expocentre Fairgrounds.
Chairman of the Council of the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of Russia, Chairman of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Energy Strategy and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex Yuri Shafranik also spoke at the opening ceremony. He admitted that 2022 and 2023 were the toughest years for the industry.
“We solved the most pressing problems, but the result is excellent: everyone worked successfully - from the government to the companies,” he noted, adding that the period 2024-2025 needs to intensify the results of achievements, identifying effective directions for action.
President of the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of Russia, Deputy Chairman of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Energy Strategy and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex Genady Shmal shared the history of field development in Western Siberia and called for an emphasis on the development of new technologies.
President of the Russian Union of Chemists Viktor Ivanov noted that the two industries need to join forces to solve common problems related to import substitution, achieving technological independence, and developing the petrochemical and petrochemical engineering complex.
The Ambassador of Brazil to the Russian Federation, Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares, and the Ambassador of Venezuela to the Russian Federation, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velazquez, spoke about options for the development of intercountry cooperation in the industry.
The exhibition will run until April 18.
