On April 21–26, 2024, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is conducting a business mission to Nepal and India. The delegation is headed by the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin.
The business mission included about 20 representatives of large companies representing Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Lipetsk, as well as heads of the territorial chambers of commerce and industry of these cities. The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen relations with entrepreneurial associations of Nepal and India, facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between domestic businesses and the Nepalese and Indian business community, as well as familiarize themselves with new opportunities for cooperation.
From April 22 to 24, the business mission will take place in Nepal (Kathmandu). The program includes meetings of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport of Nepal Raghubir Mahaseth, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Narayan Kaji Shrestha at the Singha Durbar government complex. The Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) will host bilateral negotiations and sign documents on cooperation, and representatives of the Russian delegation will take part in the B2B Business Contacts Exchange. At the end of the visit, a “business breakfast” will be held with the participation of the leadership of the Confederation of Nepalese Industry and the Nepal-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On April 25, 2024, the delegation of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue its business mission to India. The hosting party is the Chamber's partner organizations - the All India Association of Industry (AIAI) and the Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC). As part of the visit, it is planned to open the office of the honorary representative of the Russian Chamber in Mumbai (India) and Kathmandu (Nepal), a meeting with representatives of the business community of the state of Maharashtra, at which presentations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of St. Petersburg, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Lipetsk Region and Russian companies will be presented, as well as the signing of a number of bilateral documents between Russian and Indian businesses.
As President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin noted on the eve of the visit:

“In the economic sense, Russia has long been connected with India through various commercial contracts and long-term investment projects, while business cooperation with Nepal is gaining momentum. Today we see an increased mutual interest of entrepreneurs from Russia, Nepal and India in developing and deepening cooperation, realizing the potential of the entire range of economic relations between our countries. We hope that the business mission of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Nepal and India will give a powerful impetus to the further expansion of business cooperation.”
