On May 28, a working meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the delegation of the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
It was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Afghanistan, Director of the Center for Media Relations Alexander Shkirando, Chairman of the Russian-Tajik Business Council Islam Nazaraliev and Director of the Central Scientific Research Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Political Sciences Nikolai Plotnikov.
A delegation from Afghanistan led by the vice-president of the Moulavi Academy, Rashid Rozi Mohammad, arrived in Russia at the invitation of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
At the meeting, issues of developing scientific and cultural ties between our countries, as well as the participation of Russian companies in geological exploration, development of natural deposits and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan were discussed.
“One of the key topics of regional cooperation is the development of cross-border trade between Tajikistan and Afghanistan with the participation of joint Russian-Tajik enterprises. Russia’s strong and long-standing relations with both countries play a special role in this,” said RTDS Chairman Islam Nazaraliev.
Earlier, at the RTDS meeting at the “Russia – Islamic World” forum in Kazan, cross-border trade with the participation of companies from Russia, Tajikistan and Afghanistan was named one of the key drivers of economic development in the region.
