On July 9, at the 14th International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom-2024” in Yekaterinburg, a session “Horizon-2035: Shanghai Cooperation Organization - the axis of the global economy” was  was moderated by the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin.
In his opening remarks, Sergey Katyrin drew the participants' attention to the need to intensify multilateral trade and economic interaction between the SCO countries in the field of industry.
“We should join forces on such important and promising tracks as the development of technological modernization in the industrial sectors of the economy, including the use of modern innovative technologies, the creation of joint ventures and industrial clusters, the formation of reliable and sustainable value chains in the production of products,” noted head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As systemic issues that the SCO will have to resolve in the near future, Sergei Katyrin highlighted the simplification of mutual trade procedures, the introduction of a unified system of mutual settlements and the building of a single infrastructure space in the transport, energy, production, and information spheres. As the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry pointed out, the listed issues are of particular relevance in the context of “transformation of the traditional world economic order.”
Presentations at the session were made by SCO Deputy Secretary General Sohail Khan, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov and heads of relevant ministries of the SCO countries, including the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Efimov. Sergei Katyrin called the admission of Belarus to full members of the SCO “the key practical result” of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, which took place in Astana the day before, on July 3–4. Also at the SCO summit, held under the slogan “Strengthening multilateral dialogue - striving for sustainable peace and development,” the organization’s leaders approved the Astana Declaration of Association.
Earlier, a delegation of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Sergei Katyrin, took part in the presentation of the results of the annual rating of the effectiveness of industrial policy implementation in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for 2023. The winners of the regional ranking in 2024 were: 1st place - the Republic of Bashkortostan, 2nd place - Moscow and the Moscow region, 3rd place - Krasnodar krai. The winners in the “Breakthrough of the Year” category were: Samara and Tambov regions.
Also today, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin will attend the main strategic session of the Innoprom-2024 exhibition - “Technological partnership: the focus of international business” with the participation of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov.
