11.12.2024

On December 11, Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke at a meeting of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, dedicated to summing up the results of the BC's work in 2024.
The meeting was opened by Sergei Cheremin, Chairman of the Board of the Council, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow, who recalled the main events held with the participation of the BC:
Namely: the Smart Cities India Expo exhibition, two thematic sections within the SPIEF, the International Municipal Forum of the BRICS countries, as well as a business forum in Mumbai (11.11.2024), which brought together a total of over 1,000 entrepreneurs from more than 500 companies in Russia and India.
The next major event of the BC in the coming year will be participation in the Smart Cities India Expo 2025 exhibition, which will be held in March in Delhi. Considering that the high technologies of Moscow companies presented at this forum in the past year aroused great interest among Indian businesses, the task is to build on the success achieved and expand their presence in this segment of the Indian market, noted Sergey Cheremin.
Vladimir Padalko in his greeting to the participants of the meeting emphasized that the RF CCI positively evaluates the work of the Business Council for Cooperation with India and intends to continue to provide it with all possible support. As the Vice President of the Chamber reported, in 2025, business cooperation with India will be built both in multilateral formats (BRICS and SCO) and bilateral. On the bilateral track, the main tasks will be to reduce the cost of logistics, find solutions in financial interactions and improve the coordination of business activity in the Indian market of Russian regions.
If Russian business intends to seriously gain a foothold in India, it is necessary to more actively promote such forms of cooperation as joint production, cooperation, including technological; purely trade operations will not ensure a multiple increase in trade turnover, concluded Vladimir Padalko.
