The President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin was awarded the medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation "For Assistance in Strengthening Peace" for his contribution to ensuring Russia's chairmanship of BRICS in 2024.

The award ceremony took place on February 17 at the Russian Foreign Ministry where First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Butin handed Sergey Katyrin the award.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of regional authorities, Russian public figures and heads of territorial bodies of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod, who made a significant contribution to the success of the Russian chairmanship in various areas of interaction within BRICS and assisted in organizing these large-scale events.

Sergey Katyrin is the Chairman of the Russian part of the BRICS Business Council and headed the Council during Russia's chairmanship of BRICS in 2024.
