
The President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin welcomed the intensification of contacts between the political leadership and business community of Russia and Myanmar on March 4 during a meeting with a delegation headed by the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Ei Win.
Sergey Katyrin noted the growth of trade turnover between the two countries and the significant potential for further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the role of the Russian-Myanmar Business Council, which, according to him, is trying to work quite actively. "The exchange of information between our entrepreneurs should become a key factor in understanding the opportunities for economic cooperation between Russia and Myanmar," he said, drawing attention to the need to place greater emphasis on developing ties between the regions.
The President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry pointed out the importance of studying the calendar of exhibitions in order to inform entrepreneurs about the opportunities for choosing expositions in which they could participate. The Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation of our countries is actively working, he recalled.
President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Ei Win and other members of the delegation spoke in favor of expanding bilateral business relations and noted progress in resolving such issues as mutual settlements and logistics. "Myanmar wants our business cooperation to develop steadily," said the head of the Federation.
The meeting was attended by Alexey Shuplov, Chairman of the Russian-Myanmar Business Council, Dmitry Petrovsky, Executive Director of the Russian-Myanmar Business Council, Daniyar Akkaziyev, Executive Director of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, who spoke about the programs implemented by entrepreneurs.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President of the Chamber Vladimir Padalko and Director of the Department of External Relations of the Chamber Ilya Nesterov.
