Sergey Katyrin: Obstacles Should Not Prevent Development of Russian-Italian Business

The history of Russian-Italian business cooperation goes back many years, and the businesses of both countries are faithful to the tradition of maintaining good relations, despite difficult periods, said Sergey Katyrin on February 28 at a meeting of the General Assembly of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce (IRCC).

The President of the Chamber addressed the assembled representatives of Italian and Russian business circles at the conference "Adaptation to a Changing World: Challenges and Opportunities for European Business in Russia" held on the sidelines of the Assembly.

Sergey Katyrin congratulated Vincenzo Trani, who had already held this post in 2018-2022, on the election of the new president of the IRCC, and presented a letter of thanks from the Chamber to the former head of the IRCC, Ferdinando Pelazzo.

The Chamber, Sergey Katyrin emphasized, highly appreciates the work of the IRCC leadership in taking a balanced approach to solving any problems and pragmatism in approaches to protecting the interests of its members. For the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Italian direction has always been one of the key ones. The interaction of Russian entrepreneurs with Italian business covers not only the capital, but also the regions. It is the active work at the regional level that has always been a distinctive feature of bilateral business cooperation.

The conference was also attended by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow Sergey Cheremin, Advisor to the Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Kirill Tremasov, General Director of the Association of European Businesses Tadzio Schilling.

The conference was also attended by Vice Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko and Dmitry Kurochkin.
