Sergey Katyrin Discussed With Ambassador of Argentina Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira Opportunities For Economic Cooperation

The meeting of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin with the Ambassador of Argentina to the Russian Federation Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira, took place on March 17, and was dedicated to expanding of trade and economic relations between Russia and Argentina.

Sergey Katyrin emphasized that a number of tools have been created and are working effectively to strengthen Russian-Argentine trade and economic cooperation. In particular, the bilateral Council of Entrepreneurs Russia-Argentina and the National Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries (NC CEPLA) act as the main link in the development of relations between business circles.
Sergey Katyrin believes that the specialized intergovernmental commission should work more actively to deepen and diversify bilateral economic cooperation. An important component of promoting cooperation is the exchange of business information. "It is important for entrepreneurs of our countries to receive more information about each other," said Katyrin.
According to the head of the Chamber, a number of regional chambers are already interacting with the regions of Argentina. This trend needs to be developed. In this regard, the Chamber could propose to the Embassy to organize a presentation of the opportunities of the regions of Argentina at the RF CCI site.
The Argentine Ambassador noted that the main mission of his diplomatic department is to provide Argentine entrepreneurs with opportunities to work in Russia. According to him, the Argentine side strives to ensure that as many Argentine companies as possible work on the Russian market.
The meeting was attended by Vice President of the Chamber Vladimir Padalko and Director of the Department of External Relations Ilya Nesterov. The head of the diplomatic mission of Argentina was accompanied by employees of the economic department of the embassy.

Currently, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Altai Krais, Vladimir, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Kursk, Oryol and Perm Regions have cooperation agreements with chambers of commerce of a number of Argentine provinces (Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Mendoza, Salta, Misiones, Entre Rios and Santa Fe).
