Chamber Held Meeting of Russian-Chinese Business Council

On March 27, the Chamber held the general meeting of members of the Russian-Chinese Business Council Association.

It was chaired by Gennady Timchenko, Chairman of the Business Council. Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of the State Development Corporation VEB.RF, also took part in the event.

In his welcoming speech, Chamber's President Sergey Katyrin noted that there are 130 chambers of commerce and industry operating in Russia, and together with their branches and representative offices, the Chamber has 350 points of presence.

“Almost all of our chambers are involved to one degree or another in relations with their Chinese colleagues,” he emphasized.

Sergey Katyrin also reported that the Chamber has representatives in 30 countries.

“But China is the only country where there are two full-time representatives: in Shanghai and Beijing. They help entrepreneurs establish connections, organize the work of mutual business missions, and check the reliability of partners,” said Sergey Katyrin.

During the event, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui, the Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development Boris Titov, and the General Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in the Russian Federation Gao Qi spoke.
