Entrepreneurs of Russia and the United States are serious about continuing cooperation, despite the geopolitical aggravations between the countries. This opinion was expressed on February 4 at his interview to TASS by the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin.

"The entrepreneurs of both countries are very serious about continuing cooperation, for which there are very favorable prerequisites. And this is despite the geopolitical aggravations between the United States and Russia. This indicates that there is a significant potential for bilateral economic cooperation, which means to use it to get additional profits for business, and for the economy, new jobs. It would be extremely unwise for politicians to destroy these great opportunities," he said.

Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko developed the theme started by the head of the Сhamber. According to him, the growth of Russian-American trade also confirmed the mood of the business communities of the two countries for cooperation.

Vladimir Padalko cited data from the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, according to which, over the 11 months of 2021, the value of Russian-American trade increased by 43% compared to the same period in 2020 and exceeded $31 billion. At the same time, Russian exports increased by 63% to $16 billion, imports grew by 28% to more than $15 billion.

"Thus, the volume of Russian-American trade already achieved in the first 11 months of 2021 beats the previous historical record of bilateral trade, which was recorded in 2011 - $ 31 billion," the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry specified.

According to his calculations, more than 1.1 thousand American companies operate on the Russian market. According to expert estimates of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, the volume of cumulative cumulative investments of American companies in Russia exceeds $96 billion, which is nine times higher than official statistics. Padalko added that both the Russian and the American economies are now "successfully emerging from the pandemic crisis," which also creates prerequisites for the development of cooperation.
