On October 31, a meeting of Russian and Iranian business circles was held in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya.
The meeting was organized on the sidelines of the 16th meeting of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia Vladimir Padalko.
Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic Muslim Khuchiev and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow Kazem Jalali addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech.
Opening the meeting, Vladimir Padalko noted that today Russian business is showing high interest in cooperation with the Iranian side in a number of areas. For example, at the invitation of the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of Iran, almost a week later, a representative delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, headed by the President of the Chamber, Sergey Katyrin, will conduct a business mission to this country. The delegation will include heads of territorial chambers of commerce and industry, their affiliated companies and organizations, as well as specialized industry associations.
“Today's meeting was preceded by a number of major events that we held together with our esteemed Iranian colleagues. For example, in April, the Russian-Iranian Forum for the Development of Economic Cooperation in the New Global Reality took place in the Chamber, in which about 350 representatives of Russian business from 30 regions of our country took part. As well as the visit of the official delegation of Iran to participate in the II Caspian Economic Forum and the meeting of the “Business Caspian” in October,” Vladimir Padalko said.
The Vice President of the Chamber specifically noted the fruitful cooperation with the Iranian Embassy in Moscow in organizing regional business missions and other congress and exhibition events.
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali thanked the Chamber and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Chechen Republic for organizing the meeting. According to him, Iran is open to the development of business relations in all areas. This is not only the oil industry, but also various areas of industry, trade, and healthcare.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Vladimir Ilyichev and Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Iran Rustam Zhiganshin made presentations on trade and economic cooperation.
The presentations of the special economic zones of Iran were made by the Deputy Head of the SEZ Ahmad Jalali and the Head of the Department for Coordination Zahra Bakhrivar.
Minister of Economic Development of the Chechen Republic Rustam Shaptukaev held a presentation in which he focused on the active development of free economic zones in Chechnya.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Chechnya Salman Kimaev spoke about the work of the Chamber in the Iranian direction.
