On November 28, the IV International Municipal Forum of the BRICS countries began in St. Petersburg, which is attended by politicians, entrepreneurs, experts from more than 30 countries, including China, India, South Africa and Brazil.
“The holding of a large-scale municipal forum of the BRICS countries in our city underlines the special role of St. Petersburg in the international arena. Our city is becoming the communications center of the BRICS plus countries. Over the years of the forum, a solid foundation has been laid for diverse cooperation, the implementation of innovative projects and the strengthening of friendly humanitarian ties,” Governor Alexander Beglov said.
President of the St. Petersburg Chamber, regional coordinator of the party project "Choose Your Own" Vladimir Katenev took part in the plenary session on the topic - "New Reality: Challenges and Opportunities". The delegates discussed the issues of improving the quality of the urban environment, unlocking the economic, tourism, cultural and educational potential of cities, attracting innovative technologies, digitalization, charity and others.
“The forum demonstrates the high interest of countries in building up and strengthening cooperation. The parties are gaining additional support in the conditions of destabilization of international relations. Based on the results of the discussions, we see the prospect of sustainable, inclusive and dynamic growth through the dynamics of the development of trade relations between the Russian Federation and the BRICS countries and the enhancement of international cooperation in strategic areas of the world economy,” said the President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Also, the President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Katenev and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the BRICS+ Business Communications Support Fund Mikhail Cherepanov signed an agreement in which they expressed their intention to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation, expanding trade, economic, scientific and technological ties.
The BRICS+ Municipal Forum has been held in St. Petersburg since 2019. In addition to thematic sessions, the forum hosts an exhibition where companies and regions demonstrate their products, investment projects and achievements in various fields.
