Representatives of over 45 companies and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan arrived in Baku to participate in an international business mission aimed at establishing contacts and cooperation. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic Oleg Korobchenko, as well as heads of large industrial companies and representatives of small medium-sized businesses.
From the Chamber of Tatarstan, the business mission is attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber Marat Akhmatov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Elvira Novikova and Deputy Head of the Department of Strategic Development of the Republican Chamber Faridun Kamolov.
During the visit, members of the delegation took part in a plenary session for enterprises of Tatarstan interested in entering the Azerbaijani market. Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov and representatives of the Russian Export Center in Azerbaijan acted as experts at the session.
Members of the delegation visited the Sumgayit Industrial Park, where there are 32 residents and 19 enterprises. In particular, the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the SOCAR-STP joint venture engaged in the maintenance and repair of heavy cranes, Christmas trees, drilling equipment, etc.
“In the current economic and political situation, strengthening cooperation with our traditional partners, and especially Azerbaijan, is a priority in Tatarstan’s foreign economic activity,” said Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan at a meeting with the head of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev.
- Foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan in 2021 amounted to more than 70 million US dollars. For the first half of 2022 - about 60 million US dollars. And I'm sure it will grow, he said.
Today, a number of joint projects are already being carried out, including the assembly of vehicles, which is carried out by the Ganja Automobile Plant, the official distributor of KAMAZ PJSC in Azerbaijan. There is a joint venture between the Ganja Automobile Plant and KAMAZ.
Yusif Abdullayev noted the considerable potential for further development of cooperation and expressed hope for fruitful interaction for the benefit of Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
