01.03.2023

The development of cooperation between the Lipetsk Oblast and the Islamic Republic of Iran was discussed at the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Said Jalali Far, a member of the board of the Joint Iranian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, visited the region within the framework of an official visit to the region.

“Iran is now interested in such Russian goods as flour, wheat, barley, corn, and vegetable oils. In addition, Iran is ready to offer Russian businesses to use the country's territory to send goods to neighboring countries Afghanistan, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait,” said Said Jalali Far.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic relations between the Lipetsk region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also decided to diversify mutual trade and bring its volumes to a qualitatively new level.

“Lipetsk entrepreneurs are actively developing cooperation with Eastern countries. The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the promising areas. In November 2022, we already visited Iran on a business mission. Based on the results of the trip, we saw opportunities for developing export potential. A number of companies are currently conducting market analysis. We plan to visit Iran again in the fall of 2023 with a delegation of Lipetsk entrepreneurs to consolidate previously established contacts,” said Dmitry Stepanov, Deputy Head of the Export Support Center of the Lipetsk Region.
