St.Petersburg Chamber: Prospects for the Development of Trade and Economic Cooperation with Tanzania Discussed

On July 14, 2023, the Vice President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ekaterina Lebedeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania Frederick Ibrahim Kibuta at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Ekaterina Lebedeva noted that Russia and Tanzania have significant potential for strengthening economic ties and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. She also stressed the importance of intensifying contacts between the business communities of both countries and creating conditions for the development of trade and economic cooperation.

The Ambassador of Tanzania expressed his country's readiness to develop ties with Russian enterprises and declared its readiness to provide all the necessary conditions for the successful representation of Russian companies in Tanzania.

Particular attention was paid to the participation of the two countries in the Second Russia-Africa Summit, which will be held on July 27-28 in St. Petersburg. The parties stressed the importance of such international forums for strengthening dialogue and cooperation between Russia and African countries.

Both sides expressed interest in further developing relations and sharing experiences in various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and education.
