On April 24, 2024, an information meeting was held at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Vice President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ekaterina Lebedeva with the Minister of Trade and Investment of the Embassy of Pakistan to Russia, Mr. Shaukat Hayat.
The event was also attended by Dmitry Aplesnin, head of the regional trade and economic cooperation department of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and also expressed mutual interest in continuing to develop partnerships and explore new opportunities for joint work. Particular attention was paid to discussing preparations for the national exhibition in Moscow (planned to be held in December 2024) and the holding of the 2nd International Exhibition “FoodAg” in Karachi from 9 to 11 August 2024 and the 5th exhibition “International Texpo” in period from October 22 to October 24, 2024.
At the end of the meeting, the Vice-President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that the Chamber is ready to support Russian companies wishing to expand their presence in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to assist in strengthening commercial ties between the business communities of the two countries.
