St. Petersburg: President of the Regional Chamber Vladimir Katenev Met the Governor of the Province of Cebu (Philippines) Gwendolyn Garcia

On June 4, 2024, at SPIEF-2024 at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a meeting was held between the President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Katenev, and the Governor of the Cebu Province of the Republic of the Philippines, Mrs. Gwendolyn Garcia.

The meeting was also attended by the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in the province of Cebu (Republic of the Philippines) Mrs. Army Lopez Garcia, President of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mark Anthony A. Enoch, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg Vyacheslav Kalganov, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in St. Petersburg Sergey Alekseev, vice-president of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ekaterina Lebedeva.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and got acquainted with the activities of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was noted that St. Petersburg and the province of Cebu have many areas for developing cooperation, such as healthcare, education and tourism. The possibility of organizing visits and internships for St. Petersburg students, teachers and scientists to the Republic of the Philippines was considered.

President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Katenev noted: “We see huge potential for cooperation with our Philippine partners. Joint efforts in areas such as education and health will bring significant benefits to both sides and strengthen our relationship."

During the meeting, Vladimir Katenev and Mark Anthony A. Enoch, President of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed an agreement between the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A similar agreement at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry was also signed with the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Platonov.

It is worth noting that earlier on the same day in Smolny there was a working meeting and signing ceremony of an agreement between the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and the Governor of the Cebu Province of the Republic of the Philippines Gwendolyn Garcia on cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres. “This agreement is based on sincerity, mutual understanding, respect and concern for each other’s interests. It is based on the solid foundation of Christian values ​​- the foundation of our civilization. These values ​​unite the peoples of Russia and the Philippines,” emphasized Alexander Beglov.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia added: “The time has come to take constructive action, unite our efforts and realize the full potential of our countries. I am sure that after signing the agreement, doors will open for Russian companies that will be able to find opportunities for business cooperation with our province in areas of interest to them.”
