St.Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Visited by Delegation of the Regional Parliament of the Province of North Sumatra (Indonesia)

On July 18, 2024, at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a meeting was held with the delegation of the Regional Parliament of the Province of North Sumatra (Republic of Indonesia), headed by Mr. Amsar Saraji.

At the meeting, Vice President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ekaterina Lebedeva presented the trade and industrial potential of St. Petersburg and the activities of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She noted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and emphasized the role of St. Petersburg as a key economic and cultural center of Russia. From the Russian side, the meeting was also attended by Valery Radchenko, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in St. Petersburg, Andrey Surgaev, Advisor to the Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St. Petersburg, Dmitry Krutoy, Acting Head of the Department for Relations with International Organizations of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg.

During the meeting, the parties discussed trends and prospects for bilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg and the province of North Sumatra. Particular attention was paid to trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the supply of coffee and tea to the regional market. The meeting participants discussed government support measures, the organization of exhibitions of Indonesian goods, and also expressed their readiness to exchange experiences in the field of business and trade.

Dmitry Krutoy, acting head of the department for relations with international organizations of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg, invited representatives of the Regional Parliament of the Province of North Sumatra (Republic of Indonesia) to take part in the forums that will take place in the fall.

During the meeting, the parties noted the mutual benefit of closer ties for business, entrepreneurs and the economy of the Republic of Indonesia and St. Petersburg, and also expressed mutual interest in further cooperation, which will contribute to the development of economic ties between the countries.

The meeting ended with a protocol photo and the exchange of memorable gifts.
