A delegation of Nizhny Novgorod companies visited Chongqing, one of the largest cities in China and an important industrial center.

The visit took place on October 14-19, 2024 and was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Administration of Voskresensky Municipal District with the support of the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The purpose of the mission was to get acquainted with potential partners both in the sphere of export and import, to conduct B2B negotiations with Chinese partners, to visit production facilities, to sign cooperation agreements.

The delegation was led by Alexander Zapevalov, head of the local government of Voskresensky District, and Alexander Pushkin, deputy general director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

On the first day of the business program the Nizhny Novgorod delegation held more than 20 negotiations with Chinese partners within the framework of the forum on trade and economic cooperation.

Chen Hao, deputy director of the Yuzhong District Commerce Committee, praised the prospects for trade growth between China and Russia: “At present, the world economy is undergoing profound changes, which opens up new opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia”. Economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Chongqing and Russian regions are becoming more frequent. As a window to western China, Chongqing has unique geographical advantages and rich resources. It is connected with China, Mongolia, and Russia in the north, the Silk Road Economic Belt in the west, the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the east and Southeast Asia countries in the south. Moreover, Yuzhong, the central district of Chongqing, has significant opportunities for international cooperation: representative offices of international companies, a pilot free trade zone, and an open, high-quality business environment.

The heads of Nizhny Novgorod companies presented their companies and cooperation proposals to the Chinese partners in detail. For example, Dmitry Fomenkov, general director of Pechat NN LLC, talked about plans to expand production, increase the number of printing machines, and open a new direction for large-format indoor printing. Therefore, the purpose of the visit was to find a reliable printing equipment supplier.

In addition, the delegation of the region visited the Chongqing Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ), its enterprises, as well as leading auto giant factories.

Meetings were held with the leadership of Wanzhou District of Chongqing, memorandums were signed, and several enterprises in various industries were visited.
