On October 29, the first economic forum of the Ural region of Russia and the Jiangsu province of China took place in Chelyabinsk. The event was organized by the South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 70 regional companies have expressed an interest in the event.
The business delegation of the Chinese province of Jiangsu included representatives of 20 companies in various branches of industrial production: engineering and metallurgy, radio equipment, electric power, food packaging, and landscape architecture. They intend to build a strong, reliable, and mutually beneficial partnership in the South Ural region.
“China is the largest foreign trade partner of the Chelyabinsk Oblast. The interest in cooperation with Chinese companies is growing. The South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry regularly organizes events aimed at developing trade and economic relations. Last year alone it organized a business mission to the Shanghai International Automotive Manufacturing Technology & Materials Show and to the Guangzhou Canton Fair, the world’s largest trade fair. Now we are preparing to visit Bauma China in Shanghai, the largest construction exhibition in Asia,” said Fyodor Degtyarev, the President of the South Ural Chamber, at the opening of the forum.
Natalia Lugacheva, the Minister of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk Oblast, thanked the South Ural Chamber for organizing the B2B meeting between the businessmen of the two regions. As she pointed out, such meetings help build friendly relations between the countries and develop close business ties between them.
Both the Chinese province of Jiangsu and the Chelyabinsk Oblast are well-known industrial areas. Jiangsu is a major producer of textile products, medical equipment, energy, and information technology.
“I hope we can establish a unified supply chain as soon as possible and contribute to joint economic development. We are committed to providing the highest-quality products and services,” said Miao Xiaoping, owner of Wuxi Henlong.
During the day, a series of B2B meetings between entrepreneurs of the Chelyabinsk Oblast and representatives of Chinese companies took place.
